To demonstrate that white light is composed by all seven spectral colours. It
comprises a multicolored card or tin sheet about 200 mm diameter mounted on a metal stand, driven by a hand wheel.
When the
disc is rotated rapidly it gives impression of white, thus demonstrating that white light is composed of all
spectral
colours.
