This is meant for automatic generation of electrostatic charges
equivalent to 200 Kv for a spark length of 75 mm (Approx). The unit operates on 230 V, 50 Hz mains supply. The charge
is
transferred from generator to the metallic sphere of dia 150 mm, surrounding the belt mounted on upper pulley.
Earth sockets
of 4 mm dia has been provided. A separate discharging sphere mounted on a insulated stem is also
provided for discharging
purpose. The discharging sphere may also be mounted on laboratory stand with
base.
